So says Alexandra Trolin, BIM Strategist at FABEGE since 2019. She came into contact with Openpoint and Robbin Hellström when he presented Openpoint to FABEGE’s project department. It quickly became apparent that they had a shared vision regarding scanning, refinement of information models, and future property management.

– FABEGE has used the platform from the start, which has allowed us to view developed models and compare them with our point clouds. It has been an incredibly powerful tool in our discussions about how to develop our models and what strategic decisions we need to make to transition from 2D to 3D, says Alexandra Trolin.

A crucial factor for us when choosing Openpoint’s solution was that the platform is open. This gives us the opportunity to work with several different actors and systems if we wish, but to integrate them within Openpoint. It also allows us to use the platform throughout the entire lifecycle of a property, from early stages right through to demolition.

– Our BTA project was the starting point for us and it was what made us begin using Openpoint’s platform. With relatively small means, we could ensure the gross area of our properties and visually see where any discrepancies existed in our existing models, continues Alexandra Trolin.

As we were early adopters of Openpoint, you could say that we have developed alongside them, and it has truly lived up to our expectations, absolutely!

One of the biggest changes when working on the Openpoint platform, compared to previously, is that we can actually view the results from the scanning ourselves and compare them with both existing and projected models. We also use the platform to gather information in the “right place” within the property, thereby facilitating information retrieval.

– What we appreciate most about Openpoint is the flexibility, simplicity, and their support. We will definitely continue to work with Openpoint as long as they remain the best option for us, concludes Alexandra Trolin.
